Solotú Gown Couture
For The bride who’s girlhood dreams are being realized
This is an identity design I created for a gown couture shop on Long Island, NY.
Solotu is a place for aspiration; kindness is present and no one is ever made to feel inferior.
There you will find beauty, not in a dress, but in the face of the bride who’s girlhood dreams are being realized.
It’s existence represents an appreciation for things that are made for the sheer joy of seeing them made. This is Solotú.
This is the aesthetic style of Solotú.
The type treatment was inspired by the flowing ‘S’ in the Mussica typeface - it sparks intrigue and communicates the fashion aspect of the Solotú brand.
Each character was first hand illustrated before being digitized. Careful attention was given to the shape of the ‘o’. The swash of the ‘S’ was aligned with the bottom of the entire name to bring back a sense of balance from left to right. The tracking - or spacing - between each character was adjusted to enable easy recognition at small sizes.
This logo concept captures the style of Solotú. A variation of the logo could include a circular shape with scroll work embellishments in or around it.
I created a business card design with the logo, and a storefront mockup to help the client envision the logo in context.
